I am trying to figure out how to compile a Index and Match with a drop down List.

In the formula I am looking at A20. Then to go to Sheet2 and find Column B to match A20, then go to Column E. I would look Column E to look for a Range List from $FX20:$GI20.

Not sure how to combine them together to work. I usually get an error.

Excel Formula:
=(INDEX('Sheet2'!$E$20:$E$1000,MATCH(A20,'Sheet2'!$B$20:$B$1000,0)))

Excel Formula:
=(INDEX('Sheet2'!$E$20:$E$1000,MATCH(A20,'Sheet2'!$FX20:$GI20,0)))

Thanks for the help

I can't make any sense of what you're asking but as you mention data validation and drop downs I'm going to assume that you're trying to create dependent lists.

The link below is the best guide that I have found for dependent lists, hopefully it will provide you with what you need.
