Hi

I have a simple spreadsheet with two tabs, one called 'data' with dates along the top and values below and a 'summary' sheet. On the summary sheet I would like to be able to enter, for example sake, April and the formula to return the april value and then when I change the date to May on the summary sheet the cell returns the may value from the data tab.

Can someone please help

Cheers

Excel Facts

Using Function Arguments with nested formulas
If writing INDEX in Func. Arguments, type MATCH(. Use the mouse to click inside MATCH in the formula bar. Dialog switches to MATCH.
=INDEX(data!A1:N2,2,MATCH(A1,data!A1:N1,0))

if adjustable date is in summary A1 and above formula is in A2

dates are in row one of data tab, numbers are in row 2 of same tab
