Date format changed

I cant work out why when I enter todays date 05/07/2011 in my my cell it changes to format 07/05/2011. I have checked the cell format and it apears to be
Date: Type *14/03/2001 location is UK.

My regional settings are all UK..

I have many other dates in the same column that are in the UK format..

Is it one particular cell or any cell in any workbook? Do you have any VBA code in the workbook?
