Date Format Issue

I have a feed file with dates in column C.

Column C has been highlighted and Format Cells > Dates > 01/04/2014 has been chosen. As a result all dates are in a unform format (as to be expected).

This feed file is used to populate another report.

The dates when viewed in the receiving file differ in that some are aligned to the left and some to the right.

I have revisited the feed file and highlighted column and aligned all to right in case this was the issue but problem still persists, and even when creating a brand new sheet in the receiving file dates are still mismatched some aligned to left some to right.

Any explanation as to why this could be happening, resoultions would be most appreciated.

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
It sounds like some of your dates are text. Select them, choose Data|Text To Columns and specify the Date format (including the order of day, month and year) at Step 3. You will probably find that the dates are in MDY format.
