Hi Excel Buddies,
You are all experts!!!!!
How is it possible to track the dates for when data are changed?
For example:
Column A is a type of yoyo
Column B is the rebate % for the yoyo
For Yoyos, the rebate rate might be 10% on 9 Oct 02. The rebate rate is amended to 12% on 15 Nov 02. This means that the effective date of the rebate of 10% on the yoyo is from 9 Oct 02 up to 14 Nov 02. Any yoyo bought from 15 Nov onwards will attract a rebate of 12%.
Now if you need to have a database showing a particular type of yoyo with the rebate rates for a period of 1 year, you will need to show the different rebate % and the period the rate relates to.
Sounds simple but not really.....
I guess the format in this case does not really matter much as long as the result shows the different rebate percentages and what dates they are effective.
Note that the only data available is the continual update of rebate rate for the yoyo on the same sheet as the percentage changes.
Thanks in advance
