Have imported multiple text and dates into excel from website (all info from same site). Am now trying to sort data into date order but some date info not registering as date yet others are. Cannot simply format certain cells/columns to date, does not work. Any other ideas to format all relevant data to date format for sorting?

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
if formatting as a date doesn't work, then excel doesn't recognize it as a date. you can 'convert' the data to dates with the date() function.

Try selecting the column with the 'dates' and going to Data>Text to columns...

On the 3rd step choose the format, eg DMY, the 'dates' are currently in from the dropdown in the Column data format section.

That should convert the 'dates' into true date values that can then be formatted as required.
