Does anyone know if it's possible to set up a Desktop shortcut that will open Excel (2007 or later) with a particular add-in (.xlam) file installed?

I have looked at commercial add-ins which are opened in this manner and they are usually COM add-ins and the shortcut is a link to an .exe. I want to keep my add-in a .xlam, but it is intended for people who are not Excel savvy and the 4 step, check a box add-in install process has been labeled a burden :eeek:.

Anyone have any suggestions? I'm open to using something like a .exe or a .msi script file but really have no idea where to start.

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
