disappearing formula

I have a formula that disappears after the calculation has performed and then the cell remains as the value. Have I messed something up or why is the cell retaining the value and not the formula? Here is what I am using "=AA9-VLOOKUP(AA11,AD8:AF19,3,FALSE)". Nothing appears wrong to me. . .

Okay houdini. Sorry but I don't see anything wrong with your formula. You sure you don't have a macro that is clearing fomulas?

A formula, by itself, cannot just be over-written, unless it is done manually (YOU delete/change it) or by VBA. So if you (or some1 else) is not replacing the formula, then there is some VBA running inthe background
