I formatted a cell as a date but somehow people still manage to mess it up.
Is there a pop-up calendar that appears when the user clicks on a cell?

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
hi,
have a look here:VBA Tips: A Pop-up Calendar for Excel
you can download example which may do what you want.

Alternatively, if you don't want to use a macro solution - then could consider having a range of dates in a data validation list.
