Dynamic Drop Down - using Unique & Filter formulas

Hi Folks,

Thanks for taking the time to review this - appreciated.

Is it possible to use the following as a formula to determine the list in a drop down box, rather than have to create that list somewhere else in the Excel sheet?

=unique(filter(SubDept,Dept=a1))
 

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
No you can't. The formula will need to go in a cell & then the DV needs to refer to that cell.

Actually, take a look at this YouTube video. There's a sample file download there too. It might be the answer to what you want to do.
