Hi all,

creating a dynamic title for a chart is rather straightforward. Select title box, enter = in formula box, refer to any cell and hit enter.

Today I tried this in a Pivot Chart. Since Excel 2013 you can have pivot charts without creating an underlying pivot table (which is new to my understanding).

So I did...and was not able to create a dynamic title on this chart. When I create the exact same pivot chart, with underlying pivot table, all works as it should...

Is this normal...am I missing something?

Thx
Jan

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Hey Jan,

I'm in the same boat. Can't believe there's nothing else out there on this problem!

I created a sample workbook that has some data and a pivot chart (no associated pivot table). Created with Excel 2013 64 bit. If anyone can link to chart title to cell L1 please post a reply here with how you did it.

Screenshot from the above workbook. There is no way to link the chart title to the text in cell L1.
