Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your excellent website and also your past assistance which was very helpful to me.

I would be grateful if you could solve a logic formula for me;

Imagine using a 10 X 10 square cell excel sheet - for example, extending from A1 to A10 to J10 with a total of 100 cells. (actual sheet I use is much more larger) I use this sheet to fill seven selected alphabets (not numbers) to represent certain attendance (related to x and y axis). I need to get an error warning if I enter an unselected alphabet in any of these columns. How can I insert a formula to show a warning message like 'Incorrect' or 'False' entry.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Best Regards
Thomas M. Jayabhai

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple

Hi -
Welcome to Mr. Excel Board.
Not sure if this is your looking for;
Select range ( A1:J10 )
Click on Data > Validation
Validation criteria Allow: List
Source: type the alphabet separated by a comma
untick the In cell dropdown
On the error alert tab, type your message on the Error message field
hope it helps
