Nearly every time I try open a file from email and go to "Save As" the file name does not default in. I then have to manually type in the file name of the file I have open.

My default file type is .xlsx. I've changed to .xls with the same result. No other options appear to have any influence under Excel options.

I've searched Google and these forums to no avail. Please help! Super annoying.

Excel Facts

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.

*Bump* Someone help with this please? I have the same problem and I like adding a datestamp to maintain version control of my excel files. This is also an issue when I open an excel as an attachment and I want to save the files into a new location.

I'm using Windows 7 and I have Excel 2007
