Excel 2007 table name question

Using Excel 2007, when I want to remove a table, I convert it to a range and then highlight the range area and hit DELETE. The table is then gone but the table name stays in the drop down name box list. How do I delete the name from the list. I hope this explains the problem well enough. Thanks.
