I am using Excel 2016. When I move the cursor from a cell to a non-adjacent cell, I literally see the cursor movement path. It doesn't go slowly, but I can see the cursor jumping from the first cell to the newly selected cell. Is there any way to avoid this ?

Which Excel functions can ignore hidden rows?
The SUBTOTAL and AGGREGATE functions ignore hidden rows. AGGREGATE can also exclude error cells and more.
File - Options - Advanced, scroll down to the General section near the bottom and uncheck the 'Provide feedback with animations' option.
