Hi All,

On a very regular basis, when opening my model crashes. I then have to waiste considerable time going through Open & Repair etc etc to get it to open.

Today, I finally clicked on the message box to figure it out.

This is what I received....

<recoveryLog xmlns="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/spreadsheetml/2006/main">
<logFileName>error159080_01.xml</logFileName>
<summary>Errors were detected in file 'C:\Users\jeff\Desktop\New Horses\New System 47F.xlsm'</summary>
<removedFeatures>
<removedFeature>Removed Feature: Object from /xl/workbook.xml part (Workbook)</removedFeature>
</removedFeatures>
</recoveryLog>

This is all good that excel removed a feature, but i have no idea what feature was removed.
Any ideas on how to track this down.
Thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Shade all formula cells
To shade all formula cells: Home, Find & Select, Formulas to select all formulas. Then apply a light fill color.
Your workbook is corrupted. The repair function was able to open it by stripping something out. Never a good situation.

Start by having a look in the log file referenced error159080_01.xml.

It's been my experience that once this starts to happen it never gets better. Time to start thinking in terms of reverting to backup copies and/or salvaging what you have; because one day it may just refuse to open at all and the 'repair' won't work.
