I'm sure there is an easy answer for this that I just cannot come up with. All of a sudden, I am getting what I assume are suggestions when I start typing in a cell with data validation. (Image below)

Anyone know how to get rid of this?

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Hi & welcome to MrExcel.
As far as I know, you cannot change that behaviour.

Click EXCEL in upper left hand corner of workbook.
Click Excel Options, lower right.
Click "Enable auto-complete for cell values . There should now be no checkmark in the square before.
Click OK

That does not affect data validation.

It only started up today. It's been only a few days since I used Excel and I am highly adept at it (VBA, etc.). So it's an entirely new phenomenon for me. :)

That unfortunately does not work. It's so bizarre since it just happened when I opened up Excel today.

Yup, it's a new feature.

Fluff ... thanks for the heads up. I didn't see the "data validation" indicated at the end of the sentence. My mind and eyes don't work as well as they used to.
