Dear forum,

I've been using mail merge within in word (merging an Excel file with my word document) and it has become quite a nuisance since the text file that it generates gets turned into a .scr file to be loaded into AutoCAD. I've looked around on search here (the forum) and there (Google) and cannot find an answer to what i'm wanting to do. Though, I may have overlooked something.

I would like to merge 2 different sheets (ToMail & ForMerging) within the same workbook and have it generate a .txt file onto my desktop that i can then use.

A little more detail:
ToMail looks something like this (One single column, multiple rows):
REPLACE
.TAG1
F1
Y
N
Y
Y
ALL
;
REPLACE
.TAG2
F2
Y
N
Y
Y
ALL

...and so forth...

ForMerging looks something like this (multiple rows/columns):
F1
F2
F3
F4
F5
200
200A
200B
200cable
200acable

What the Excel to Word Mail/Merge does is take the F#s and moves them into their appropriate spot for each row in my excel sheet. What I would like the Excel to Excel Mail/Merge to do is move the F#s into the appropriate location in to ToMail for however many rows i choose and generate the text file.

Any help is appreciated, and thank you in advance!

Excel Facts

Get help while writing formula
Click the italics "fx" icon to the left of the formula bar to open the Functions Arguments dialog. Help is displayed for each argument.
Summary: Merge the two sheets above to a third sheet and create a .txt file from that sheet.

Problems:

"appropriate spot/appropriate location " is not clear
What cells do each of the data above occupy?
What cells should what data be in after the merge?
Use Excel Jeanie (or similar - see link in my sig) to show the details of the two worksheets.

With the above data, what should the resulting .txt file look like?

Phil,

My apologies that my post was not that clear. Let me clarify, the information in the ForMerging sheet start at A1 (F#s) and B1 (200, etc) and increments to the right, and the information in the ToMail sheet starts at B1 and increments downward in the B column. The data in ForMerging goes into the ToMail sheet (column B) and from there the merged ToMail sheet is saved as a .txt with the merged information. I do not have permission to post any attachments at this time.

Thanks.
