Hi. Shapes in Excel seem to flash a lot even carrying out simple actions like selecting shapes. Does anyone have any ideas for reducing/limiting this or is it just a consequence of the program?

Thanks

Excel Facts

What is the shortcut key for Format Selection?
Ctrl+1 (the number one) will open the Format dialog for whatever is selected.
Try

Application.ScreenUpdating=False
'code to manipulate shapes
Application.ScreenUpdating=True

Thanks Peter, I'll definitely need to tidy up putting this in a few more places.

But the shapes still flash even without code. Just selecting some shapes can make the flash. Lack of RAM maybe?
