Excel Goal Seek

Hi all
Need help desparetly. I am learning Excel and am having alot of difficulty in the Goal Seek function.

The question I need to answer uising goal seek is:

'use the whatif/goal seek function to change a markup rate in celle B6 (currently 114% and entered as a percentage not a formula) until a net profit of $1.00 is achieved for the probable outlook in cell D50 (currently an amount of $116,243.39 - this is made up of a formula of Total sales minus total expenses)

I have tried sevrel times and the gosl seek just does not want to return a value.

Any advise or assistance as to what I ma doing worng would be greatly greatly greatly appreciated.

So you have tried using Goalseek?
Ie:
Set Cell: D50
Equal To: 1.00
By Changing Cell: B6

I am assuming based on your post that D50 is where you've calculated your net profit margin.

If this is the case then what exactly is goal seek doing/ not doing for you?
