I want to convert an Excel Table into a range, but the option is grayed out no matter what cell that I click in.
  • Under the table tools, none of the options seem to be available - they are all grayed out as well
  • Columns B-F are hidden and I am unable to unhide them
  • Column Headers A, U and Z are are filled with the color yellow
    • When I move the highlighted cell from a cell in column A, I am restricted to only cells in columns A, U and Z.

My questions are the following:
  1. How can I convert the table to a range? Why are the options under table design grayed out?
  2. Why am I restricted to only cells in columns A, U and Z.

Thank you.

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
Hello goodmachine,

My guess is the worksheet is protected. Did you or someone else create this table?

When you open the file, does it ask for a password?

If so, can you get back to the"owner" and ask them for the PW?
(If they wont provide the PW, please dont ask here how to get around teh PW, that is not allowed on this - or most other - forums)
