I have used vba and pivot tables to generate a trial balance from two tables [chart of accounts and transactions]
The approach was to combine the tables into one table b4 inserting the pivot table
Is it possible to use vba and the data model of the two tables

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
You don't necessarily even need VBA.
Power query could get the data for you. It could then either join the 2 tables at that point or load each table into the data model.
As long as you only need to link the tables based on 1 field the data model can handle it. If you need to combine on multiple fields and / or clean up the imported data then Power Query will be the tool of choice.

You might need to be a bit more specific on what you want to know.
Yes you can use VBA with the Data Model & Power Pivot.

I haven't watched it yet but here is a Wise Owl video of 1hr 8 mins on the subject.
