I'm running a Excel 2003 and have created a very simple workbook that does some validation, additions, no VBA code and has some conditional formatting and I sent it to a coworker and when he tried to open it, it took 15 seconds to load and then he received a Microsoft error report, what would be the cause?

Excel Facts

Convert text numbers to real numbers
Select a column containing text numbers. Press Alt+D E F to quickly convert text to numbers. Faster than "Convert to Number"
A higher version can open lower versions but lower versions sometimes cannot open higher versions.

Try saving your Workbook as a lower version.

On the Save-As Utility at the bottom is a dropdown box that lets you select the version to save as.

Try the: 97-2000 Workbook
