Excel won't let me change formats in cells

Dear all,

Excel won't let me change formats in cells. It says "to many cell formats".

It returns this error message below after crashing once i try a few times to change the cel formatt.

I have no idea how to fix this. Can you help?

If your data has zip codes, postal codes, or city names, select the data and use Insert, 3D Map. (Found to right of chart icons).
bane of my life, i save and close excel then restart and it works for a while, not found a proper solution
