Hello,
It's my first post here.
Task I'm working on is:
1) Make Excel to open one of the .dat files coming out of the imaging machine ( out of many stored in folders of various timepoints)
2) Out of many Entries from .dat file...I need data associated with only from 3 variables
3) Save that data in one Master excel file
4) repeat the process for all files in folders about 140 times( How to anonymize the individual file name?) and ask excel to get next file in the folder and save data associated with 3 variables save it in Master Excel sheet

Excel Facts

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
20180620_093524_B512_Opsis_1-19-18.dat this is the file name of the first file
I want macro to select 20180620_093525_B512_Opsis_1-19-18.dat file or technically next file

There is only one way to open these .dat files ( drag into Excel but it creates new excel sheet itself
