I just discovered the cause of a problem I noted with the inability to preview my files, even though they were saved as Excel 2000 worksheets with the Save Preview box checked in the Properties tab.
The problem appears to be due to the fact that my default workbook (Book.xlt) had been modified by me to include a bitmap image with my company's logo at the top of the page. Any files which I created using this template showed "no preview available", yet when I removed the bitmap image from my startup template, new files were displayed with previews.
I do also note, however, that if I insert the bitmap image into the file AFTER creating it from a template, the preview image does not update itself to include the bitmap. I am posting this message to bear out my thoughts and learn if previews cannot display bitmaps inserted into files.
Thanks for your feedback.
