Fill button not working correctly (though double click works)

Hi everyone,

I'm having a very weird issue with Excel 2010 (I'm running Win7 on a VAIO laptop). The fill button and CTRL+D shortcuts are working very strangely, but the double-click fill works perfectly. when I have a column (or table) of values, and I create a formula next to it (even if it's just a string/number), filling down (CTRL+D) will clear the selected cell, and filling right will copy the cell on the left of it. The same effect occurs when dealing with a row. I'm guessing it's just copying the cells.

I've been using this copy of Excel for a while but never tried using that CTRL shortcut before, so I don't know how long I have had this issue.

Can someone please explain what happened and how I can fix it?

Cheers

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
NEVERMIND

This is very embarrassing - but after some playing around, I realized that you needed to select the rows that you wanted to fill into (which means it's less practical than the double-click).

So, no problem after all...
