Filling shapes on spreadsheets

I have workbooks on my pc which are made up as monthly diaries with a cell and rectangular shape representing each day of the month. As each day goes by I fill it with an accent 2 colour.

I need to be able to automatically use the same code for each day as it passes. I would be obliged is someone could help me achieve this.
