Hi. Can I filter all the rows in a spreadsheet by the colour of the first cell in column A. I have a conditional format in place that turns the first cell orange when it matches certain text. I then want all the rows with the first cell that is orange to jump to the top

When did Power Query debut in Excel?
Although it was an add-in in Excel 2010 & Excel 2013, Power Query became a part of Excel in 2016, in Data, Get & Transform Data.
The sort/filter option allows sorting by color. Have you tried this or are you wanting something else?

When I try this it filters the first column but the rows next to them that the data applies to stays putting everything out of sync?

You have to select the entire range of data you want to filter. Selecting only the first column will only filter the first column, however, in my experience, this usually triggers a prompt asking me if I want to expand my selection due to data in the adjacent columns. Curious why it may not be asking you to expand, unless you have an empty column between the first and your other data.
