Filtering multiple sheets

I know that when you 'Group' sheets that filtering doesn't work but is it possible to mark on a second tab whether a row is visible or filtered out on the original tab?

The idea being that I don't want to have to repeat a complicated filtering exercise on the second tab - I just want the result of the selection I made in the original tab?

Currently I use an 'advanced filter' on the second tab but I thought there may be something more elegant I could use which would have the advantage of then being able to do a further filter on the second tab.

Thanks,

Andy
