Find is not working!

I have a lot of text (html) in a cell and several find and replace events in a macro. All but 3 of these (identical) events work.

So to test I did a find from the ribbon... it didn't work.

To make sure, I went into the cell and copied a bit of the text then pasted it into the find box... and excel told me it couldn't find it.

How can this be? What am I missing?

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
What does your find command look like?

Are you incorporating
Code:
lookat:=xlPart
so you can find within a cells contents?

Actually, I'm talking about excel's built in find here! I do have code but I went back a step from that and started searching using the find option from the ribbon and it's not finding text that I have copied from inside a cell (how's that even possible?)

Have you checked all the options in the Find dialog? Are they all set correctly?

Match case is not ticked and match whole cell value is not ticked so that shouldn't be the prob.

Is it a formula? No, at least it's doesn't start with = it's html code (quite a large amount) and certain finds work within it while other chunks of text copied from within it return as 'not found'.

Wierd!
