In a column
i have multiple names, most individual names appear many times.

I want to find the names that have only one entry (appear only once)

Is there a vba that could search a column, and underline all the names that appear only once?

Thanks

Excel Facts

Excel Can Read to You
Customize Quick Access Toolbar. From All Commands, add Speak Cells or Speak Cells on Enter to QAT. Select cells. Press Speak Cells.
why not use filter - advanced- unique records?

The column is one of many in a worksheet.

I have excel 2010

When i try all the options on Filter-advanced-unique records.....it just changes the data around and doesn't seem to work.

Are there any other possible solutions?

Assuming the data looks like the one below,

select the list of names (A2:A9),
Goto Conditional formatting
Enter this formula

Code:
=COUNTIF($A$2:$A$9,A2)=1

and choose the required format style
Excel Workbook
A
1Name
2Name1
3Name2
4Name2
5Name3
6Name3
7Name4
8Name5
9Name5
Sheet1
Excel 2003

Im using excel 2010

I can see no option in Conditional Formating to enter a formula.
They seem to be automated options.

Thanks

PS - there is a text to enter a formula - but nothing happens....

highlight the column

1 Conditional Formatting
2 New Rule
3 Format only unique ......
4 Change drop down box from dup. to unique
5 press Format
6 Under Text go to underline.

Thankyou to all. Got it.

Is there anyway to automate that with code?
It looks like something i will be doing 4 or 5 times a day.
Thanks
