Hi All,
Assuming Cell :
A1 = A B C
A2 = D E F
A3 = G H I

What I need to do is find out what row the letter / word is in.
For example if I am looking for the letter "E", I need it to return that "E" is in row 2.
I have tried find / match andI cannot figure out how to do it using formulas.
i would appreciate it if anyone can give me an idea how to solve this problem, it is driving me nuts.
Thank you very much in advance for your help.

What is =ROMAN(40) in Excel?
The Roman numeral for 40 is XL. Bill "MrExcel" Jelen's 40th book was called MrExcel XL.
Try this Vba script:

Code:
Sub Find_Me()
Dim i As Long
Dim Lastrow As Long
Dim ans As String
ans = InputBox("What value are we looking for?")
Lastrow = Cells(Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp).Row

    For i = 1 To Lastrow

        If InStr(Cells(i, 1).Value, ans) Then MsgBox ans & "  is in row  " & i
    Next

End Sub
