I am doing a FDM project for a heat transfer class and I wanted to add a little something extra to my excel spreadsheet. I want excel to change the color of an individual cell based on the value in that cell. The values will be temperatures, so with the color change I will get a graphical representation of the temperature at each point in my table. Does any one know how to do such a thing?

Thanks
TJ

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
Is sounds like you may want to look at conditional formatting....quite easy actually

Format | Conditioal formatting

there are a lot of examples to be found in the search section of this site...

hope this helps

Thanks for that advice. I wanted to add more than three conditions to the data so I can get wider range of colors. Any other options?

Probably in VBA code, you can do wonderful things....i leave this question open for the code writers....you may want to show a short example and your expected outcome so thay may have something to work with...it usually goes a little faster..

good luck
