How can I get an entire row to format when specific text is entered?

What I mean is,

When I type "credit" in A1, I want Row 1 to fill with a Green Pattern automatically.

Thanks.

Excel Facts

Why does 9 mean SUM in SUBTOTAL?
It is because Sum is the 9th alphabetically in Average, Count, CountA, Max, Min, Product, StDev.S, StDev.P, Sum, VAR.S, VAR.P.
Select the cells in the row you want to be formatted (since I doubt it's the ENTIRE row), and go to Format\Conditional Formatting.

In the dialog, select 'formula is' from the dropdown list and enter the formula =$A1="credit" in the blank. Then click the 'format' button, and select your colors/borders/fonts. Click OK until you are out of the dialog box, then try entering 'credit' in A1. :)

and if you want to use macro use this:
Code:
With Rows(5).EntireRow.Interior
    .ColorIndex = 4
    .Pattern = xlPatternCrissCross
End With
