Pupils are marked on 6 objectives at Pass, Merit and Distinction. Currently I have a series of formula that calculates what grade each objective is and displays the grade (Pass, Merit and Distinction).
Now what I'm trying to work out is if there is a method to calculate the overall grade using a formula.
For example:
All 6 cells say Distinction, so the overall grade is Distinction.
5 Cells say Distinction, but one cell says Pass, so the overall grade is ranked as Pass. (They need to pass all objectives to get the expected result)
4 Cells say Merit and 2 say Distinction, so the overall grade is Merit.
Now currently I have been using COUNTIF's and IF statements to try and solve it but it doesn’t work. (The countIF's count the amount of times a grade has been achieved and the IF statement was supposed to display a statement depending on those results.
Now this might be a really awkward way of doing it. So any advice you can provide will be much appreciative.
