I have dates in cell A1:A300 and have subjects in column A:Z. I need a formula that will count the number of Present(P) for a given subject on a given date. Is it possible with a formula?

Excel Facts

Copy a format multiple times
Select a formatted range. Double-click the Format Painter (left side of Home tab). You can paste formatting multiple times. Esc to stop
Sounds like Countif should work.
=COUNTIF("HISTORY",A1)
would return the number present for the subject of History on the date of (whatever date is in A1)
