How can I change this : =SUM(B17*E17)

And this : =SUM((G17)*(-$G$36))-(-G17)

not to show zero if referenced cells are blank (empty) using a similar formula : =IF(ISBLANK(A3),"",A3)

Try like this

=IF(OR(B17="",E17=""),"",B17*E17)

Thank you VoG
While waiting for help I discovered that if I do this:
Tools/Option/View & I uncheck "zero values" then the problem is solved.

Is there a down side doing it this way ?

Well it does not work so I'll use the formula offered here instead

The downside would be if you wanted to see if a particular cell contained 0.

This is not an issue here but might as well learn something today so I will try to apply your suggestion to this :
=SUM((G17)*(-$G$36))-(-G17)

Please do not further help for now.
Give me a week to try to figure it out ... then if you feel like please help.
Thank you again

I know...I know so it took less time than I thought ...

=IF(OR(G17="",$G$36=""),"",((G17)*(-$G$36))-(-G17))
