Hello Guys,
I have this sheet where I have to get the Matches and Mismatches between Portal and Tally. Till now, I was using the formula shared by Mr. mikerickson, but today I noticed that when there are same or approximate amounts with a difference upto+1 or -1, which appear twice under the same GSTIN number, I was getting some mismatched amounts as matched. Earlier, when mikerickson shared the formula, I didn't share the columns of Invoice Number and Invoice Date as they were not always an exact match. Hope these columns are helpful in correcting the formula.
I need help to correct this formula and get the perfect matches. I am not sure but maybe a countif / s formula may solve the problem.
Sorry posted the wrong excel sheet. will post the right one in some time.

Are you looking at my post #4 column K...that is exactly what it shows. I don't see any problems with it. I'm assuming when you say "line" you are referring to the worksheet's row number (there is a column heading called "Line", but I'm not referencing that).

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
If the difference is more or less than10/- it is fine. But if there is a huge difference then the matches contain some mismatched amounts too.

I am referring to the row numbers.

I just checked your post #4. It is showing correct 2 matches. But the same formula in my sheet is showing 3 matches. I wonder why

Did you adjust the formula to fit the range in your sheet?

The only difference is you have entered the formula in row 3 in your sheet and I have entered in row 2. Let me try and insert a blank row and try again

Is it possible to get the same correct result without inserting a row.?

A formula often depend on the table structure, so when the formula is pasted into a worksheet, you need to check all of the ranges and cell references. to ensure that they point to the correct locations. The blank row is not critical to the formula...but you need to examine the formula to ensure that it points to all of the correct ranges.
