Freeze Panes disappears upon reboot

I have numerous spreadsheets for which I set "Freeze Panes" to display the headings in the top row, but I have to continually reset "Freeze Panes" each morning when I turn my computer back on. (This is the computer I use at work, and my office requires us to turn off our computer each night. We are using Excel from MS Office 2000.)

Does anyone know how to keep "Freeze Panes" in place through reboots?
