General VB/Excel learning question

I am trying to learn to do more with Excel/VBA and am using a Visual Basic 5.0 book for assistance. So far so good but as I'm sure you can imagine, there aren't really any Excel references in the book. Should I be using a book specifically on VBA or will the info I learn from this book suffice? I figure if I'm going to be self-taught...I should at least try to do it right.

Thanks...as usual...for all your help!

You'll need something more than a VB book.
They won't cover the main features of VBA/Excel - locating and manipulating cells, sheets and workbooks. This involves additional objects, properties and methods, such as:
. Range object properties: Value, Font, NumberFormat, Offset
. Range object methods: Select, Sort, Delete, Insert, Copy, PasteSpecial
. Sheet object methods: Cells, Columns, Rows, Activate
. Worksheet functions

You could learn from recording Excel actions, but be warned. You get macros that do lots of unnecessary selections, and jump from cell to cell, which isn't very good to watch.
