hi,

I have a sumproduct formula that basically works fine; but i now i wanna reuse it for another purpose. unfortunately it is not working, the only thing that changed is that the lookup value is always a number but sometimes a text. how can i get this thing to work?

formula looks like this/

=sumproduct(--(a1:a100=number1);--(b1:b100=number2);--(c1:c100=text);(d1:d100))

note that the D column also contains text; and that there are redundant cases, which means that the same combination exists several times though the result is also the same.

i hope somebody can help me there

regards

andre

Excel Facts

How to fill five years of quarters?
Type 1Q-2023 in a cell. Grab the fill handle and drag down or right. After 4Q-2023, Excel will jump to 1Q-2024. Dash can be any character.
Do you mean this

=sumproduct(--(a1:a100=number1);--(b1:b100=number2);--(c1:c100="text");--(d1:d100))

well the thing is that the text is put straight in the formula but referred from another cell...

Well I am sure that means something to you, but it flies straight over me.
