Hi

I have conditional formatting on Cumulative Variance so that if it says OVER then the cell is RED. If it says UNDER then the cell is green.

I also want to colour the Variance cell based on the same criteria for the Cumulative cell, but to use the OVER/UNDER text to decide on the colour.

Any ideas?

Thanks for helping,

Dave

Can't you just use the same formatting rule on the variance column as you did on cumulative column?

If your sample data is in the range A1:D2, select C2:D2 and use the conditional formatting formulas:

=$D2="OVER"
=$D2="UNDER"

The $ sign fixes the column reference.
