Hey guys,

tvt here, longer time reader 1st time poster

I had data validation set up on a shared workbook so the guys using it this sheet had to enter a certain cell value...

now this has worked perfectly for 3 months now but has decided to kak itself today, i have tried re validating the cells in question but it just doesn't work.

There are no longer any dropdown lists and they are now able enter which ever value they want.

Please help with possible reasons solutions.

Possible solutions?

In the Setting tab the Allow drop down don't have List but Any value selected.

Thanks for your reply.

unfortunately "list" was selected in the drop down box, what i did though was copied and pasted the entire sheet into a new workbook and it miraculously fixed itself upon pasting, so it was only the original wok book that was screwy.

Weird but there you have it.
