Thanks in advance, as always, for help with this formula I can't figure out.

Screen shot below. I'm trying to sum the values in the range of date columns between user input at A3 and B3. Don't know if I need to get the Cell References to do and INDIRECT sum or if I can use another formula.
The yellow shading is where I'm trying to get calculations. If Columns D and E aren't needed to get Column B, I'd be happy with that!

Thanks!
Mary B

Excel Facts

Return population for a City
If you have a list of cities in A2:A100, use Data, Geography. Then =A2.Population and copy down.
Sorry, the Cell addresses in Column E should be $J$6 through J$9

How about
Excel Formula:
=SUMPRODUCT((DATEVALUE($F$5:$L$5)>=$A$3)*(DATEVALUE($F$5:$L$5)<=$B$3)*(F6:L6))

Solution
I get a #SPILL! error. Copied the formula to row 14 and it calculates across the 6 columns.

What exactly is the formula that you used?

I'm looking for the sum of values on each row of the table where the column heading is between and including the dates specified in A3 and B3.

Yes, I know, but what is the formula you used that gave the spill error?

I tried this formula but it returns 0.

=SUMIFS($F6:$L6,$F$5:$L$5,">="&$A$3,$F$5:$L$5,"<="&$B$3)

The recommendation from another user:
=SUMPRODUCT((DATEVALUE($F$5:$L$5)>=$A$3)*(DATEVALUE($F$5:$L$5)<=$B$3)*(F6:L6))
