Hi

I need a wee bit of help with this one, my iferror and vlookup works fine:

=IFERROR(VLOOKUP(E12,Sheet1!A3:A93,1,FALSE),"No")

However, instead of returning the value from column 1 in the vlookup I want it to return "Yes", I tried:

=IF(IFERROR(VLOOKUP(E11,Sheet1!A2:A92,1,FALSE),"No"),"","Yes")

and

=IF(IFERROR(VLOOKUP(E11,Sheet1!A2:A92,1,FALSE),"No"),"No","Yes")

Greateful for any insights.

Excel Facts

When they said...
When they said you are going to "Excel at life", they meant you "will be doing Excel your whole life".
Try

=IFERROR(IF(VLOOKUP(E12,Sheet1!A3:A93,1,FALSE),"Yes"),"No")

Afraid not give me all no's :(

=IFERROR(IF(VLOOKUP(E17,Sheet1!A8:A98,1,FALSE),"Yes","No"),"No") Which gives me all 'Yes' or 'No' depending on the condition I put in there.

Try

=IFERROR(IF(ISTEXT(VLOOKUP(E12,Sheet1!A3:A93,1,FALSE)),"Yes",""),"No")

Note - the If has to go inside the iferror, otherwise it will never get there.

Edit: Actually you don't need the iferror

=IF(ISTEXT(VLOOKUP(E12,Sheet1!A3:A93,1,FALSE)),"Yes","No")

You are a star!! :)

The one using IFERROR gave me blank instead of NO, but the second one works perfectly.

Thank you for the tip to make sure I put an IF statement inside and IFERROR.

I allow you to go get an ice cream for your efforts :)

You're welcome, using istext returns True or False, an error is seen as False, hence no need for the inferror.

Mint Magnum it is, 24 degrees here so good call :)
