I am fairly new to excel so this may have an easy fix I am missing. I have a report that is exported out of a vendor program to excel. When it exports it removes all the leading zero's from my item # column. I need the #'s to be stored as text to work with the access based tool. Is there a way to store them as text without the leading zero's being deleted?

Excel Facts

Format cells as currency
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+4 to format cells as currency. (Shift 4 is the $ sign).
when you open the file, use Data/Get External Data - From Text. opening the file this way will keep the leading zero's.
