I'm not sure if it is possible, but I am trying to create a formula that finds the highest number in column f, by looking at a range of numbers in column j, and a range of words in column a. Not sure if that makes sense... It needs to be like a sumifs formula but instead of returning the sum it returns the highest number. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Excel Facts

How to calculate loan payments in Excel?
Use the PMT function: =PMT(5%/12,60,-25000) is for a $25,000 loan, 5% annual interest, 60 month loan.

Post some sample data so we can have a better idea of what you're working with, as well as your current formula if you have one.

Something like this maybe...

Array entered**:

=MAX(IF(A2:A100="This",IF(J2:J100=10,F2:F10)))

Returns the max value from column F that corresponds to "this" in column A and 10 in column J.

** array formulas need to be entered using the key
combination of CTRL,SHIFT,ENTER (not just ENTER).
Hold down both the CTRL key and the SHIFT key
then hit ENTER.
