i have a few cells i want to do the following.
sum= quantity(cell1) times price(cell2) minus discount (cell3). how do i do this thnks

Excel Facts

What do {} around a formula in the formula bar mean?
{Formula} means the formula was entered using Ctrl+Shift+Enter signifying an old-style array formula.
Assume:

1. The quantity is in A1
2. The price is in A2
3. The discount (as a percentage) is in A3

Then in any other cell type:

=A1*(A2*(1-A3))

If the discount is not a percentage then type:

=A1*(A2*((100-A3)/100))
