Hiding characters if formula is not used...

I have a simple multiplication formula in columns 1-10. If I only enter data in columns 1-7, how can I keep columns 8-10 blank. The $ sign appears even though the formula is not being used. Thanks for you help!

What is the formula you are using in those cells? You could probably use an if statement to return a blank, but not sure of your situation?

Its a multiplication formula, =B26*D26 in cell E26

Maybe try:

=if(b26*d26,b26*d26,"")
